Roger Grandow, of Deerbrook, died Friday, December 14, 2012 at Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 82 years old. He was born on November 18, 1930 in Racine, WI a son of the late John and Blanch (La Liberty) Grandow. He married Dorothy Spiegel on August 22, 1953 in Oconto Falls. She survives.
He served in the United States Navy from 1947 until 1951.
Mr. Grandow was an electrician for Nordberg in Milwaukee for 25 years. In 1974 he moved to Tigerton and raised veal calves until 1994. After retirement he moved to Rhinelander until moving to Deerbrook in 2005.
He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Antigo.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid trout stream fisherman.
Survivors include four sisters, Theresa (Ervin) Kozer of Sturtevant, Elaine (Gordon) Link of Milwaukee, Dorothy Sullivan, Wautoma and Elizabeth (Dick) Markielewski of Cottage Grove; and two brothers, Clyde Grandeau of Tigerton and Norman Grandow of Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Luella Hotzel and a brother, Ken Grandow.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church with Reverend Michael Spaude officiating. Burial will take place in Tigerton Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 10 - 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
