The flag is made entirely of recycled and repurposed materials. The pole is a recycled light pole from Antigo’s Sharon Motors car dealership. The panels themselves had edging flaws and were rejected for sale. The housing for the thrust bearings that rotates the art piece was from an old butcher block. The PVC used was from an old auction and other pieces were formed from scrap. The bottle caps were donated by members of our community to AVA Public Art.
The piece includes: 1675 screws, 13 bolts, 3350 bottle caps, and close to 200 hours of labor by the artist, engineer and contractor.
