William H. Dickman, "Bill", a longtime Antigo resident, died peacefully at his home on Monday, December 3, 2012, under the care of LeRoyer Hospice with his family at his side. He was 77 years old.
He was born June 6, 1935 to Herbert and Viola (Miller) Dickman. He was a 1953 graduate of Birnamwood High School. He married Delores "Dolly" Resch on July 6, 1963 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa.
Mr. Dickman served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 - 1957 during the Korean War. He was stationed out of San Diego, CA. and was a radio operator aboard many ships. Following Naval service he worked at Four Wheel Drive in Clintonville , at Advance Tool & Die Co., in Milwaukee and for General Telephone and Electronics Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1993.
After retirement from GTE he drove bus for Langlade County Department on Aging and was a medical van driver for Antigo Vans.
He was a member of the Darling-Gunderson American Legion Post #341 - Birnamwood where he served as finance officer and past commander.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Papa". He was always present at his grandchildren's sporting events and was also an avid deer hunter.
Mr. Dickman is survived by his wife of 49 years and three daughters Sue (Allen) Schilcher, Antigo; Sheila (Sidney) King, Hatley; Sherry (Travis) Bunten, Antigo; five grandchildren Jeremy King, Stevens Point; Cody Schilcher, Silverdale, WA; Alyssa Schilcher, Brandon and Brittney Bastle, Antigo; two sisters, Dorothy White and Mary Klemp, both of Clintonville; two brothers Robert (Sharon) Dickman and Ronald (Patricia) Dickman, both of Birnamwood; a sister-in-law Marlene Dickman, Hatley; also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Donald and Herbert Dickman, Jr., a sister Susan Dickman; two brothers-in-law, Karl White and George Klemp.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery where the Birnamwood American Legion Post will conduct military rites .
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday also at the funeral home.

Sherry and Family - I have so many fond memories of your dad. What an amazing and lively man! I wish you peace and comfort in knowing that he is in a better place. I love and miss you.

Most of my memories of Bill center around deer hunting. He was always fun to be around, with that booming voice and fun-loving attitude. You will be missed, Bill.
