Karen Sippl, of Aniwa, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 64 years old. She was born on February 6, 1948 in Antigo, a daughter of the late John and Grace (Reif) Steckbauer. She married Jerome Sippl on January 4, 1969 at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. He survives.
She was a 1966 graduate of Antigo High School. She was a housekeeper at North Central Health Care Center in Wausau retiring in 2010.
Throughout her time as a foster parent she was able to care for 26 children.
She was most proud of being a wife, mother, foster mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband survivors include a son, Joseph (Beth) Sippl, Hammond; a daughter, Amanda Sippl, Minocqua; two grandsons, Tyler and Ryan Sippl; four sisters, Joan (Thomas) Zarda, Antigo, Kathleen (Neal) Bissonette, Schofield, Donna Welnetz, Antigo and Rose (Lyman) Cline, Schofield; and four brothers, David (Connie) Steckbauer, Antigo, Lawrence (Sally) Steckbauer, Antigo, Paul (Corky) Steckbauer,f Antigo and John (Debbie) Steckbauer of Wausau.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Aniwa Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 10 - 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. A parish wake service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

We didn't have the pleasure of knowing Karen but we would like to send our condolences to Paul & Corky, our wonderful neighbors. We are so sorry for your loss.
Karen was always so accepting, loving and kind. She had a quick sense of humor that made her such fun to be with. Her and I had so much fun going to our meditation meetings! I will miss her, and think of her often. She was and always will be a terrific person!
