C Carey Tradewell Balistreri on Dec 19, 2012

I was just informed today, Dec. 18th, that Bobbie had passed away in Sept. Bobbie was married to my father Jim Tradewell and during the short time of their marriage Bobbie was a very good stepmother to me and my sister Janie. Throughout the years I would see Bobbie, often at Bass Lake. I have many dear memories of Bobbie and send to her family my sincere sympathy.

Aunt Bobbie was always a favorite person to everyone in our family. The year she got her cabin at Bass Lake was about 1951 or 52...a very long time ago. In 1953 the Martini clan visited for vacation. Everyone slept in the small cabin before the addition was put on.I got to sleep with Grandpa Martini in a tent out front. It was still a primitive lake then though the golf course was well known amongst the golfers....Father, Grandpa, and I went fishing in Bobbie's "Olde Town" rowboat. Just in front of the island and just to the North amongst the rockpiles, Father hooked into the largest Muski I have ever seen. All &*^% broke loose in that old rowboat and I thought my Grandpa was going to have a heart attack. He took the gallon paint can concrete anchor and started beating the daylights out of the muski.(little did he know he was banging a hole in the boat) He finally was able to tie the muski to the boat while I rowed in to the dock. Opps father caught another big fish! This time it was a good sized Northern.....When we got ashore and Aunt Bobbie saw the fish, she was so proud Bass Lake actually had some fish in it! She called the Antigo Press....They came out and took my picture holding the fish....We made the newspaper! On the 50th anniversary of catching that fish,,,,Aunt Bobbie sent me the original clipping of me holding the fish.....Now everyone is gone but the many fond memories continue....THANKS AUNT BOBBIE

Was going to visit Aunt Bobbie in Nov but now it won't be happening- Remember her visiting my mom (Ellie Mae) years ago- then mom going and helping her after a sugery. Sorry I never got to see her again.

I remember taking Aunt Bobbie for a ride around Wellesly Island in the St. Lawrence River in a 14 foot aluminum boat on a windy day. It was probably about 30 years ago...we had a good time but I think she was glad to be back on solid ground!

I'm so glad that Joanie, Angelina and I all were able to visit you in 2009. I so hoped to have made another trip to Wisconsin to see you again, but alas, things did not work out. Well now you're back together with my mother and the rest of your siblings, as well as Grandma & Grandpa Wartinbee...

Bobbie let Carey and I play dolls at the cottage feeding them all kinds of things. Our nightime activity was dressing up and having a little theatre.
Bobbie was humored by our evening antics and seemed to understand our need to pretend. In retrospect she was always herself and didn't pretend otherwise. It was great to go to Bass Lake
when I was young. Bobbie always made me feel welcomed!

Miss Wartenbee was my first grade teacher at Sixth Ward School in Antigo, and my most distinct memory of her was that she was a pretty blonde woman in a red dress, and I idolized her. She will be missed.
