Marion Pregler, of Antigo, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 91 years old. She was born on March 27, 1921 in Antigo, a daughter of Frank and Marie (Hauenstein) Hitz. She married Christ Pregler Jr. on October 19, 1940 at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1989.
She farmed with her husband in the town of Rolling. After her husband's death she helped her son, Dan and grandson, Steve with the operation of the farm. She took care of the milking equipment, helped with milking chores, fed the calves and watered the cows. She also helped by running errands, to the feed store, implement company or Fleet Farm.
She enjoyed the outdoors, picking berries and tending to her small garden of cucumbers, tomatoes and sweet corn. She maintained her home and spent extra time caring for her son, Richard. She liked spending time with family and relatives.
Survivors include three daughters, Christina (Gordon) Wurtinger, Antigo, Judy (William) Heckmann, Merrill and Betty (Douglas) Hitt, Antigo; two sons, Dan and Richard Pregler both of Antigo; six grandchildren, Steve Pregler, Brian Hitt and friend Becky, Kevin (Nancy) Hitt, Michael (Suzanne) Hitt, David Heckmann, Kathy (Tim) David; ten great grandchildren, Cadence, Colton, Carrigan, Conner, Devin, Ayden, Reed, Trent, Faith and Miranda; two step-great grandchildren, Corey and Samantha; a sister, Margie Graham, Minn and a brother, Gordon Hitz, Antigo.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Lemmens and five brothers, Eugene, Edward, LaVern, Arthur and Clarence.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend David Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
