Charles "Chuck" Stetina, of Antigo, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at KHTCR-Eastview. He was 93 years old. He was born on December 5, 1918 in Milwaukee, a son of Charles and Bella (Kirshner) Stetina. He married Beatrice Janssen in 1945 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phlox. She preceded him in death on August 30, 2002.
He was a graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee with the class of 1936 and attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee for 2 years.
He worked in Milwaukee for the Schlitz Brewing Company and later as an accountant at Bucyrus-Erie. Mr. Stetina moved to Phlox where he farmed for several years and worked as an accountant at Antigo Milk Products before moving to Tomahawk where he and his wife owned and operated a card and gift shop for 18 years. He retired to Antigo in the mid 1980's where he was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
Survivors include a brother-in-law James (Sue) Janssen, Tempe, AZ; two sisters-in-law June Stetina, Summit, Alice Janssen, Nashotah; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a sister Geraldine Schultz and a brother William Stetina.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. William Brunner, officiating. Visitation will be 9 - 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
The family requests no flowers or gifts.
