I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle Bob. I will always treasure our childhood memories of going to Antigo for the summer and spending them with our relatives! Our prayers are with the family.

What a gift you have been...and will continue to be, to your family. They will have wonderful memories to get them through this tough time and in the future...family get togethers, playing cards, wonderful example of a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, businessman, community member, church member and more...many times a man of few words...much like my Dad..but when you did say something...people listened..rest in peace until we meet again...

Grandpa, there are so many things that remind me of you all the time. The smell of dirt and diesel reminds me of warehouses and potatoes, playing cards in the breakroom, riding on top of the potato sacks on the forklift. A creak in the floor reminds me of the farm house. The sound of gravel under tires reminds me of pulling into your driveway to see you greeting us at the door. I have such great memories of the cabin and fishing and sitting in your lap while you played cards. Coming to visit has always been exciting and fun because you made it that way. I am so grateful for the time I had with you. I have been so blessed to call you Grandpa! Love you!!

Grandpa was the greatest person that I've ever known. I will never forget all the times we spent together in the tractor. He tought me and given me a lot and is a big part of who I am today and I hope to pass that greatness on to my kids and grandkids! Best buds forever!

I fondly remember the times we had upnorth, visiting, playing cards, eating Gene's famous buttered popcorn with a soda pop. The time I had with you Uncle Bob, I will always cherish. You have a very special place in my heart. Love You!

Grandpa, You were simply the best. The best grandpa, the best listener, the best person to get some one to smile, the kindest man a person could ever ask to know. There are not even words to describe the amazing person you were, and helped the rest of us become. You were "my person". The person I told EVERYTHING to, even all my crazy boy stories, haha I think in the ended you knew some of the boys as good as I did because I told you everything I could :) and you always listened. I love and cherish all of the times we spent together; fishing, playing cards, going for rides to the farm, staying over night, going for ice cream... the list is endless.
These last two days have been so hard. There is an emptiness inside. Sometimes I find myself not being able to breathe, but I know you are now in a better more peaceful place and the rest of us are in a better place because you are up there watching over us. And we couldn't ask for a better person for the job, because in the end we know that you really thought "It does Matter" I love you grandpa

Dad, although it was difficult at times, being with you the past few weeks was a gift I will always treasure. Your strength and love was truly amazing, as was the strength and love of our whole family. What a testament to you and Mom! I miss you very much, but know you are in heaven watching over all of us.
I love you.

Dad...I felt the world stop and my heart stop beating when they told me you're gone. How I wish I was only dreaming. Just like the rain; tears fell down my eyes, I couldn't speak for a while.
Thank you Dad...
For always listening, caring, and loving me for the rest of your life. The greatest gift God gave me was...YOU...My Dad...
It's difficult to let you go but I must...I must return the gift God gave me. I will always love and miss you Dad!!

Grandpa and Emily

E Emily on Jul 27, 2012

Grandpa is my hero, always has been and always will be. One of the most caring, kind, honest, loving, and silliest men I know. He could always put a smile on my face and always made us laugh. There are so many great times and memories that I have had with him. One of my favorites happened just a few months ago when he was recovering well from pneumonia. He had been using a walker but was just getting back to getting around without it. Mom and I were over making him and Grandma supper so I was by the kitchen and the polkas were playing on the stereo. Grandpa came out of the bathroom and started polka dancing across the dining room towards me with a HUGE grin on his face. Mom and I were both laughing because it was the first time we had seen him polka in years! He pulled me in and twirled and polka danced with me for a few circles smiling and I was laughing, put his hands on my face, gave me a kiss on the cheek and said "You are a good girl!" :) That was one of the happiest and best moments of my life and I will cherish that memory forever! A phenomenal person and an even better Grandpa! Greatly missed and forever loved!

He was always such a pleasant man. My sympathy to your family. I am the #2 daughter of Don and Lois Schroeder, who were honored to be friends of the family.

Greatest dad in the world, his passing has left an empty place in my heart that will never be filled.

D Diane on Jul 27, 2012

He was the most amazing Dad that anyone could of asked for. He would do anything for anyone! He will be truly missed by all.
