Neil Gordon Smith married Julia Joseph and was stepfather to seven children, Brenda, Arthur Jr, Ernestine, Terry, David, and Ricky. he always had a smile even in tough times. when Julia got sick he was there for her through the entire time even when he was in pain himself. He never like to be a bother. If you asked him if he wanted something he would reply don't bother then say oh okay. He lived a simple life enjoying time spent at the community center with his friends and cookouts with his family. I loved his beloved pets. Rest in peace Neil you will be missed.

You never complained once about caring for my mother or asked for anyone's help, even though you had severe health issues for many years yourself! I remember you & Ma talking many times that you thought that you may have a brain tumor and she tried many times to get you to go to the Drs. I always admired your dedication to Ma. She wasn't an easy person sometimes to take orders and gave up after her illness! I'm glad that you finally got to DC Veteran's Memorial and that it was a happy and memorable trip before you died. I know you wanted to go again! At least you are free now from all the pain and suffering that you've endured! You will always have a special place in my heart and I will miss your sense of humor! Love always, Your daughter Brenda

Neil, we have known each other since we worked together at fleet farm in 1987 and we used to tease each other on break and then we met again through david, I have always admired how sharp you were. I will miss arguing politics with you like we tended to do when we met up. I am so glad you got to go on your honor flight before you got so sick. Thank you for serving our country in the korean war I know how proud you were of that service. You will be greatly missed, Sandy Joseph
