Jerold Bruley, longtime resident of Green Bay and Lily Lake, died Monday, May 7, 2012 in Green Bay. He was 77 years old. He was born on June 2, 1934 in Amherst Junction, a son of Merle and Dorothy (Stanke) Bruley. He married Dorothy Pitcher on January 14, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stevens Point. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2010.

He was a graduate of Amherst High School.

Mr. Bruley then worked for the Green Bay & Western Railroad for many years retiring in 1989. He began his career at age 18 as a telegraph operator and ended it as President.

After retirement he moved to Lily Lake.

He enjoyed woodworking and spent many hours as a volunteer grooming trails for the Tombstone Pickerel snowmobile club.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pickerel, and the Lily Lake Association.

Survivors include three sons Matthew "Matt" (Christine) Bruley, Green Bay, Scott (Jody) Bruley, Suamico, Donald "Don" Bruley, Green Bay; two daughters Dawn House, Green Bay, Lisa (Andrew) Schmude, Oshkosh; ten Grandchildren Benjamin (Kara) Bruley, Jeremiah (Kimberly) Bruley, Peter Bruley, Jamie Bruley, Jada House, Dan Ehlke, Noah Schmude, Joseph Bruley, Kendra Bruley, Kate Bruley; seven great-grandchildren Kaiden Bruley, Addison Bruley, Ava Bruley, Lillian Bruley, Madison Krieck, Preston Bruley, Charlotte Ehlke; a sister Delores Solvrud, Scandinavia.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a brother Melvin Bruley.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Highway 55, Pickerel with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.
