Conrad P. Adamski Jr., of Antigo, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 92 years old. He was born on December 3, 1919 in the town of Ackley, a son of Conrad and Anna (Galuska) Adamski Sr.

He married Bernadine Cherek on June 29, 1946. She preceded him in death on November 27, 1980. He married Luella (Servi) Fleischman on December 2, 1988. She survives. He attended Eau Claire Grade School in the town of Ackley.

Mr. Adamski served in the United States Army during WWII from December 15, 1942 until March 11, 1946. He spent 17 months in the European Theater serving with the 501st field artillery battalion and 14th armored division. He was a small arms mechanic reaching the rank of Corporal and was awarded three campaign medals.

After marriage Mr. Adamski and his first wife operated a dairy and potato farm in the town of Ackley. For 11 years he served as town of Ackley supervisor and health officer.

He was a member of SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church, Antigo, the Monsignor Conrad Saile Council 1002 Knights of Columbus and Monsignor Conrad Saile Assembly 1214 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a life member of the Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2653, Antigo and was faithful in participating in the military honors firing squad and marching in many local and area parades. He was also a life member of Paul Marmes Disabled American Veterans Chapter 23, Antigo.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

In addition to his wife survivors include four daughters, Mary Jo (Roger) Breitenfeldt, Antigo, Susan (Garry) Anderson, Antigo, Pat (Richard) Seis, Antigo and Judi Adamski, Pella; seven grandchildren, Tom, John and Paul (Katie) Breitenfeldt, Brad Anderson and Melissa (David) Stutzriem, Amy (Walter) VandeWeerd and Kevin Seis; eight great-grandchildren; six step-children; 21 step-grandchildren and 13 step great-grandchildren; a sister, Adeline Peterson, Wauwatosa; and a sister-in-law, Marge Cherek, Clinton, Iowa.

In addition to his parents and first wife, was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Lyon; two brothers, Alois and Edward Adamski; three brothers-in-law, Eugene Cherek, Clyde Lyons and Lawrence Peterson; and two sisters-in-law, Vivian and Inel Adamski.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery with Antigo veterans conducting military rites. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 - 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Bradley Funeral Home

The Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 6 p.m., Antigo veterans will stand honor guard from 6:30 -7 p.m. and a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. all Friday at the funeral home.
