Ronald Basken, of Antigo, died of cancer on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 63 years old. He was born on November 26, 1948 in Manitowoc a son Lydia (Soukup) Basken of Francis Creek and the late Norman Basken. He married Ann Johnsen on July 7, 2004 in Antigo. She survives.
He was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. Mr. Basken owned and operated Ron's Auto Repair in Marion for 24 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and the company of his friends who came to the shop for coffee every morning.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Scott (Karin) Basken, Kenosha and David (Saki) Basken, Chicago, IL; two grandsons, Aaron and Alex Basken; granddaughter, Brenleh Anderson; great-grandson, Atticus; a sister, Sharon (Randy) Wanek, Sturgeon Bay; three brothers, Dennis Basken, John (Peggy) Basken and Jim Basken all of Manitowoc; his mother-in-law, Marge Johnsen, Antigo; a sister-in-law, Carolyn (Fred Kaske) Johnsen, Antigo; a brother-in-law, Allan (Kathy) Johnsen, Rothschild; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jessica Basken; father-in-law, Clifford Johnsen; and sister-in-law, Delores Basken.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

I worked with Anne. Ron loved her very much and you could tell. The Lord calls us all, some too soon for us left behind. But with the promise that we will meet again in a better place. Our prayers are with you, Anne.
