Betty Eldridge, of White Lake died Saturday April 28, 2012. She was 90 years old. She was born on November 19, 1921 in White Lake, a daughter of John and Ellen (Hayes) Ably. She married David Eldridge on July 30, 1942 in Antigo. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2011.
She was a 1940 graduate of White Lake High School. After marriage she lived in Marion, Indiana where she was employed at RCA Corporation for 25 years. After retirement in 1978 she returned to White Lake.
Mrs. Eldridge was a member of St. James and Stanislaus Catholic Parish in White Lake and the Christian Mothers Society.
She enjoyed crocheting, baking, traveling and her beloved cat Tiger. She was an avid Green Bay Packer and NASCAR fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Joanne Lukefahr of Antigo, and Ann (Robert) Campbell of Boulder, CO; a son, Tom Eldridge of Prescott, AZ; seven grandchildren, Chanin (Rick) Zellner, Heather (Scott) Sprengler, Tammy Lukefahr, Robert Patrick Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Gina (Eric) Foreste and Kimberly (Erik) Madsen; fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Lukefahr and a daughter-in-law, Karen Eldridge; four sisters Hazel Daly, Florence Cernoch, Margaret Ably and Imogene Zimmerman; three brothers Joseph, Forrest and Ralph Ably.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in White Lake with Rev. Roger Strebel officiating. Burial will take place in Langlade Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services. A parish wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eastview, Langlade Hospital, and LeRoyer Hospice namely the Sisters Dolores, Jean and Adele; and to Sr. Marie Andre' of St. James and Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Mom was always there for me. When I disappointed her, she let me know about it. But she never stopped loving me. And only later in life did I learn how valuable a gift that can be. I love you Mom.
Betty was my great grandma.. she always had a way of making you laugh and smile.. hse had the warmest hugs and cooked the greatest food in the world. She always told me Erika Keep your Chin up be a good girl grandma loves you... not only was grandma one of my best friends she was my inspiration. she always new how to make sense of every situation and handle it with a tender smile and a soft touch.In Febuary Ill be married and she always said she would make it tillher eldest great grandchild married before she she passed away.. I am the eldest Grandchild and alothough grandma will not be there in sight she'll be in my heart. we all miss you so much grandma... Love Erika
David and Betty were my neighbors for many years in White Lake. I could not have asked for better friends. I will deeply miss them both. Betty never forgot us kids all the way to the end, and I will never forget her or David. You will be deeply missed, I wish I could have seen you more often. Rest in Peace and say Hi to david for me. Grandma with all of her children, their spouses and grandchildren - Christmas 1987 - last time we were all together.
Working for Aunt Betty and Uncle David when in the rafting bussiness in Langlade. Glad to see an updated photo have not seen her in years . She now is with her sweet love:-) Also remember staying the night with them when I was maybe 5, was scared to death because they had such a huge house, and for some reason me so small it scared me.

Thank you Joanne for letting me know she had passed. I regret not being able to see her when I was there. Your parents were always very special to me and Janet asked if I knew how much your Dad thought of me, and tell her Yes, I did. They were so good to Bill and me when we moved to Indiana all those years ago and I will treasure all those memories forever...God Bless you all
