Doris Mae Dolezal, a longtime Deerbrook resident died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Bornemann Nursing Home in Green Bay. She was 90 years old. She was born on February 15, 1921 in the town of Summit, a daughter of Rudolph and Sarah (Webster) Holz. She married Louis Dolezal on January 8, 1938. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1995.
She was raised in the town of Summit. Mrs. Dolezal farmed and operated a trucking company with her husband in Deerbrook until 1952.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook, their Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Mrs. Dolezal sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She served as secretary of the River Grove Parent Teachers Association and volunteered at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
Our mother was happy, and charmed all those around her with her many songs jokes and cute stories. She opened her arms to hug everyone and shared her joy each day.
Survivors include a son Raymond (Judy) Dolezal, Green Bay; two daughters Nancy (Doran) Arrowood, Pickerel, Donna (Richard) Fosterling, Deerbrook; two sisters Ruth Wunrow, St. Frances, Bonnie (Jack) Spencer, Deerbrook; nine grandchildren Jay (Jenna) Dolezal, Joshua Dolezal, Jacquelyn (Warren) Krause, Shannon Jackson, Sarah Keaton, Fawn (Maurice) Crossland, Nathan, Luke and Molly Fosterling; three step grandchildren Bradley (Kelly) Arrowood, Robert (Tina) Arrowood, David (Crissy) Arrowood; six great grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son Robert, a sister Pearl (Wayland) Potter, three brothers, Henry (Regina) Holz, Ernest (Alice) Holz and Eugene (Beatrice) Holz, a brother-in-law, James Wunrow.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook with Rev. Jerome Hahn officiating. Burial will take place in Forest View Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
