Morleen Kathleen Wright, age 88, left Antigo to play her accordion in Heaven on May 2, 2024. She was born on March 31, 1936 a daughter of Steven and Mary (Budich) Somen.
In 1954 she married Frank Svoboda, the couple later divorced. She was then married to Harold Steckbauer for 16 years. She married Herbert Wright, he preceded her in death.
Known as the "Hat Lady", Morleen managed the White Lake Nutrition Program for many years and was a volunteer for LeRoyer Hospice. She had a love for music and played the accordion in the Louie Zdrazil Band.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Pam) Svoboda and Steven (Tonya) Steckbauer both of Antigo; three grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Menzel of Hortonville, Christina (Scott) Mischler of Greenville, and John Svoboda of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Michael Jr. and Harper Menzel, Berkley, Kinzey and Lana Mischler; special granddaughter, Tabitha Beatty of Lafayette, IN; four step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and special friend Judy Knudsen. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Meade; and a granddaughter, Ashley Steckbauer.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
