Marilyn Mae Frisch, age 84, of Antigo, died on April 23, 2024, at The Bay at Gardenview Assisted Living. She was born on April 5, 1940, in Antigo, a daughter of Bernard and Leona (Durkee) Cornelius. She married Donald Frisch on June 10, 1962. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2005.
Marilyn was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1958. She attended Langlade County Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, receiving a bachelor's in Education.
In the beginning of her career, she taught in Marathon and Outagamie Counties. Mrs. Frisch was a first-grade teacher for the Unified School District of Antigo for 29 years.
She was a member of the Langlade Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Langlade County Retired Teachers Association, and St. John Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Marilyn loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was an avid reader, and was a Wisconsin sports fan. She enjoyed the companionship of Raymond Matucheski.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheryl (Mark) Hanke of Lake Mills, Kaye (Ray) Matucheski of Antigo, and Cynthia (Wayne) Habert of Appleton; a son, Steven (Jayme) Frisch of Appleton; grandchildren, Mike (Lea) Hanke, Kristin (Brian) Paulson, Megan (Jesse) Ashwill, Stephanie (Sean) Ingram, Scott (Julie) Matucheski, Kaylee (Andrew) Olund, Kyle (Taylore) Matucheski, Jonathon (Marla) Habert, Matthew Habert, Kaitlyn DeBraal, Brooke DeBraal and Paige DeBraal; great-grandchildren, Norah, Neve, Nella, McKenzie, Madalyn, Mason, Maxwell, Charlie, Mia, Ellie, Lily, Payton, Autumn, Kaiden, Asher and Jack; two sisters, Germaine Orlowski of Wausau, and Nancy (Vern) Jolitz of Hortonville; four sisters-in-law, Ann Cornelius of Antigo, Stella Cornelius of Manawa, Pat Frisch of Green Bay, and Lorraine Frisch of Antigo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; brothers, Bernard Cornelius, Jr., Glenn (Gertrude) Cornelius, Paul Cornelius, George Cornelius, and Donald (Mary Ann) Cornelius; a sister, Gladys (Donald) Schmidt; brothers-in-law, Frank Orlowski, Maynard (Clara) Frisch, Norman (Alice) Frisch, Roy Frisch and Floyd Frisch; sisters-in-law, Marie (Stanley) Hunt, Cecelia (Rudy) Ourada and Mildred (Eugene) Zimmerman.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. George Daniel and Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, April 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. all at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held Friday at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.
