Richard D. Pennings, age 72, of Pickerel, died on April 5, 2024 at his home. Richard was born on December 16, 1951 in Little Chute, son of the late James and Lucille "Toots" (Marquardt) Pennings.

He was a graduate of Little Chute High School and worked as a Press Operator at several different places before retiring to his place in Lily.

He served 6 years in the United States Army before his honorable discharge.

In his younger years, Dick loved wrestling, softball, bowling, foosball and playing cards. He and his brother Ben were the Kings of the foosball table. He loved his "piece of mud" in Lily, spending time outdoors, fishing, campfires, boat rides, giving kids golf cart rides, telling jokes and stories, playing roll-your-own cribbage, spending time with family and friends and of course his Miller High Life. He looked forward to visits from his great niece and nephew, Zander and Sienna.

The most common comment about Dick's passing was this..."I remember Dick, he was always fun to spend time with."

Survivors include a son, Nathan Verstegen, Little Chute; two sisters, Donna Pennings of Appleton, and Anne (Mike) Junio of Kaukauna; a brother, Ben (Kay) Pennings of Little Chute; sister-in-law, Gail (Jeff) Behling of Wabeno; and nieces and nephews, Tom (Deb) Pennings of Appleton, Dale (Tammy) Pennings of Plymouth, Tammy Pennings (Jason) of Chilton; Jay Smith, Alicia (Trevor) Niec of Appleton; David (Jessica) Pennings of Kimberly, Laura (Eric) Blemberg of Kaukauna, Allie (Drew) Jamison of Appleton and Crystal (Craig) Leick of Kaukauna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Jay; and a sister, Rebecca Pennings.

A celebration of life will take place in Pickerel at a later date.
