Joan M. Foth died Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg, where she had resided for the past five years. She was 88 years old. Joan was born on August 27, 1935 in Polar, a daughter of the late Willard and Mary (Golbach) Gress. She married Lyle W. Foth on October 13, 1956 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Polar. They were married for 62 years when he passed away on April 2, 2019.
Joan graduated from Antigo High School, class of 1953, and then worked at Employers Insurance in Wausau. After her marriage, she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, and canning. She was involved in her church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School throughout the years that her children attended. Joan later worked with Lyle in their business ventures until their retirement.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Gary) Allison of Muscatine, IA; son, Lee (Angela) Foth of Polar; four grandchildren, Nicole (Dave) Sether, Ben (Katie) Schultz, Luke (Daisy) Foth, and Dustin (Megan) Foth; eight great-grandchildren, Ezra and Kai Sether, Kinnick and River Schultz, Linus Foth, and Eli, Maggie and Zeke Foth; and one brother Eugene (Candace) Gress.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert (Jan) Gress, and special aunt and uncle, Emma and Wallace Janke.
No services are being held.

I worked at Homme Home and knew your Mom - she was truly one of the kindest, softest and most peaceful women I've ever met. I'm truly so sorry to you her family, friends and those closest to her. May peace be with you all and enjoy Heaven, Joan. They're lucky to have you.

Todd and I will keep all of you in our prayers. I've never met a nicer lady. She was very special to us throughout the years at the locker plant and Sundown Valley. She left a mark for sure.
