Beverly T. Berndt, of Antigo, died on February 13, 2024 in her home under the care of her five daughters and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 86 years old. She was born on September 19, 1937 in Antigo, a daughter of Alvin and Mable (Nonnemacher) Tillman. She married the love of her life, Lyle Berndt on November 17, 1956 at St. John Catholic Church. They cherished their 40 years of marriage together until his passing on December 19, 1996.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1956. Bev worked at Farmers Home Restaurant as a waitress for 41 years. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
Bev and Lyle's marriage was special and treasured by her. She often reminisced about the time they spent on their porch swing together. Bev took pride in the way her home looked by her effort of cleaning the house and mowing the lawn. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and many grandchildren, cooking, going on walks, and listening to country music. Hugs were her thing and you could not come or go without receiving one.
Survivors include her five daughters, Debbie (Douglas) Nonnenmacher, Linda (Ray) Guenthner, Lila (Dan) Gallenberg, DeeDee (Dean) Weaver all of Antigo, and Karen (Mark) Wyro of Weston; three sisters, Carol (Phil) Draeger, Marion (Buck) Lynett both of Antigo, and Margie (Robbie) Alvis of Schofield; 15 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren with one on the way; seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Martin Varga; brother, David Tillman; two sisters in infancy; and special friend, Ed Oestreich.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 19 at 2 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. George Daniel officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 12 p.m. until the time of Mass at the church in Hoffmann Hall.

My dear cousin, Bev—I know you were a “bit” older than me but I remember how you did love to hug every body and I remember your girls—I think Debbie borrowed my wedding veil for her wedding. Funny little thing to remember, I know. I wish you rest and peace and know you will be so happy to finally see your mom, dad, brother, and of course, Lyle.🙏
Bevy was one of the sweetest ladies I ever met. Bev and her family have always been very special to me. ♥️🙏
