Patricia M. "Pat" Hoeft of Marion, formerly of Antigo, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023. She was born on November 17, 1927 in Antigo, a daughter of Francis J. and Katherine (Byrne) Strong and was raised with a strong pride of her Irish heritage. She married Harold E. Hoeft on June 12, 1948 and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage. He preceded her in death.
Pat was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother. She worked in the medical billing department at Langlade Memorial Hospital and Stockbridge-Munsee Health and Wellness Center until retiring at 83 years old. She used her beautiful singing voice for many years in the Sweet Adeline's and the St. John Catholic Church choirs. Pat enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and her faithful companion, Daisy. She enjoyed game days with the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. Pat was always ready to get in her car and go on an adventure and go shopping!
Pat is survived by daughters, Sally (Harvey Mathes) Hoeft, Margaret (Peggy) Hoeft, Ann (Charles) Harter, and Jodi (Richard) Pergande; sons, Thomas (Jo) Hoeft, Robert (Rhoda) Hoeft, William Hoeft, James (Cathy) Hoeft and John (Bonnie) Hoeft; grandmother to 22 and great-grandmother to 11. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Zima; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Hoeft; sister, Kay (Jerry) Ulschmid; father and mother-in-law, Alwin F. "Bill"and Eleanore Hoeft; brothers and sister-in-law Elaine and Edward Simon, Richard Hoeft and Donald Zima.
A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Joel Sember and Rev. Charles Hoffman concelebrating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church in Hoffmann Hall. Burial will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Antigo.
The Hoeft Family wants to thank The Pines facility, especially the CNAs, mom truly appreciated the care she received the last couple of months. Also to Dr.Deep and his staff for all the years of medical care and kindness extended to Pat.
