Christine M. Bauer, of Antigo, died on September 15, 2023 at Gardenveiw Terrace under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 92 years old. She was born on February 1, 1931 in Antigo, a daughter of Gustave and Edna (Parsons) Boettcher.
She married Russell Hoke on December 28, 1949, he preceded her in death on March 24, 1960. She married Ludwig Bauer on January 23, 1965, he preceded her in death on September 8, 2016.
Christine worked for Baker Canning for eight years, she then worked at Thelma's for seventeen years.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Langlade Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She bowled with the Wednesday night and Tuesday afternoon leagues for many years. For fifteen years she managed the Antigo Polka Dance Club.
Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, playing cards, dancing, and tending to her flower gardens.
Survivors include four daughters, Diane Grosenheider of Litchfield, IL, Janice Schafer of North Liberty, IA, Maxine (Kris) Kettner of Antigo, and Elaine (Tim) Hoffman of Adel, IA; two sons, Evan Hoke of Antigo and Dale (Renae) Bauer of Arbor Vitae; grandchildren, Chantel (Luke) Heser, Samatha Bauer, Katie Hoffman, Tim (Sean) Hoke, Jessica Schafer, Jeff (Zandra) Grosenheider, Julie (Jason) Zbornik, and Kerry (Tom) Ausmus; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Irene Boettcher; sons-in-law, Jim Schafer and Dennis Grosenheider; a grandson, Nate Hoffman; and infant great-grandson, Samuel Hoke.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 22, at 2 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Jarod Fenske officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
