Bernice Barbara Stuiber, of Antigo, died Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Cloverleaf Terrace in Birnamwood under Hospice Care. She was 97 years old. She was born on November 17, 1925, in the Town of Rolling, a daughter of John and Frances (Fleischman) Stuiber.

To complete her education, she gained her general Educational Development credential and was very proud of that accomplishment. She worked for Weinbrenner Shoe Company Factory until its close and then later for Edge of Night Motel.

Bernice enjoyed looking through magazines, watching television, gardening, trips to the casino with her sister, family get-togethers, and staying in touch with relatives. She loved to send birthday and holiday cards and receive them as well. She remained active in her later years living independently in the family home and was able to mow her lawn well into her 80s. She had a quiet somewhat shy personality but could come up with some one-liners to make you smile.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Arnold (Jean) and Patricia Stuiber; Noreen James, Norman Jr., Nanette, Nicholas (Rosie), Noel (Felicia) and Nathan Stuiber; Patrick (Lisa), Lynn (Ben) Haseleu, and Tomas (Heather) Prasalowicz; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Stuiber.

Bernice was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Arnold Stuiber, and a sister, Donna Prasalowicz.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22 at the Bradley Funeral Home at 12 p.m. with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will take place Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic Church or All Saints Catholic School.
