Elvera Frisch, of Antigo, died Friday, February 10, 2023 at Rosalia Gardens in Antigo. She was 100 years old. She was born on June 4, 1922, in Bryant, a daughter of Leonard and Ellen (Johnson) Carlson. She married Delmar Frisch on June 26, 1948, at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1982.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1940.
Mrs. Frisch was a member of St. John Catholic Church, it's Christian Mothers and Altar Society, she sang for many years in the Church choir, and made Ranger Rosaries for soldiers. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines and Note-blenders, and was a member of the Sew n' Sew group, the Red Hat club, the Wolf River Ski Belles, and the Wisconsin Upper Michigan Florist Association, auxiliary.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary (Michael) Winski of Antigo, Joanne (Louis) Austin of Georgetown, Texas, Jean Hubatch of Antigo, Margaret (Kelvin) Gresch of Antigo, Julie (Tim) Schulz of Colfax; two sons, John Frisch of San Francisco, California, James (Becky) Frisch of Antigo; grandchildren, Derek (Kayla Reed) Winski, Jami (Jason Simonson) Hubatch, Bob (Kalie) Austin, Matt (Jessica) Austin, Andrea (Ryan Nell) Frisch, Molly (Grant) Hones, Lindsay Gresch, Justin and Jenna Schulz; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Zoe, Cooper, Peyton, Delmar and Sammy; and one great-great-grandchild; Ella; a brother-in-law, Thomas Frisch; and nieces and nephews, Ellen (Bob) Citrano, Pam (Randy) Tahtnen, and Jeff, Scott and Rev. Mike Frisch.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Terry Hubatch, two brothers, Roy and Carl "Ed"; two sisters-in-law, Marcella "Sally" Olson and Audrey Frisch; and three brothers-in-law, Donald, Alan, and Clarence "Con" Frisch.
The funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, April 10 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church in Hoffmann Hall.
