Robert J. Kolz, Jr., of Antigo, died Monday, August 8, 2011 at Langlade Hospital. He was 86 years old. He was born on October 31, 1924 in Antigo, a son of Robert and Earla (Dalton) Kolz Sr. He married Marie Muench on August 14, 1948 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She Survives.
He served in the United States Army from Nov. 27, 1943 to May 2, 1946 having been in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters.
After military service Mr. Kolz worked at Frost Veneer Mill in Antigo. From December 1971 to Jan. 1987 he was employed by the city of Antigo in the Water Department.
He was a lifetime member of the Leland-Tollefson Veterans of Forgein War Post #2653, Antigo.
He was a Chicago Cub and Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors including his wife are two daughters Renee Kolz, Antigo, Cheryl (David) Elam, Antigo; three sons Rodney (Sharon) Kolz, Antigo, Randy Kolz, Antigo, Tom Kolz, Milwaukee; a sister Shirley Preboski, Antigo; a step sister Jackie Reynolds, Elcho; three Grandchildren Tiffany (Paul) Thomae, Justin (Jami) Elam, Teddy Kolz; three great grand children Logan & Colton Thomae, Addyson Elam.
He was preceded in death by his mother Earla Wolhaupt; father Robert Kolz Sr. and a sister Patricia Rabe.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum where the Antigo Veterans will conduct military rites.
Visitation will be 3:30-8 p.m. on Friday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday and Antigo veterans will stand honor guard from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home .

I will never forget Bob, he was a unique person, had his opinions on things and he always let you know them. I had many meals at the Kolz's, they were like a second family to me when I was growing up. It will seem really weird without Bob in the house when I stop to visit. Love, Peggy Kasson
