Sonja was the best sister anyone could ask for. There will never be a day I won't think of her and the times we shared. She was more than a sister to me . She was a mother and my best friend. She would do anything for me as I would her. I miss you dear sister and love you. Hold my son til I can join you mom and jerico in heaven. RIP dear sister.

I just want to express my condolences to her friends and family, I know that they are grieving right now, but remember that she will live on in all of you. In her words, her wisdom, the things she taught you and most of all the love that she shared with you. I'm truly sorry.

S Steffi Mikkelson on Jul 23, 2011

I'd like to ask everyone to take a minute to recite this prayer for Sonja and her family... the power of prayer is great and I know that Sonja's family and friends are missing her deeply at this time:

Dear Lord,
We ask You to take your child Sonja by the hand and guide her home to be with You and her loved ones who have already joined you. We ask you to be with her family and friends as they grieve losing Sonja and help to bring them peace and understanding knowing that Sonja is with You peacefully, and while she is no longer here physically, she is with all of them in their hearts now more than ever when she walked this Earth. Please bring them peace and understanding allowing them to accept Your will and need for Sonja to come home to You now. Please help them to remember her with smiles and laughter rather than tears and aching. Please give them the comfort that only Your love can give. We ask You in Jesus' name, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God now, and forevermore, Amen.

Sonja was a beautiful woman who never failed to make me laugh. She had a unique way of seeing every situation and more than once I found myself thinking "I never thought of it that way" after a conversation with Sonja. She gave birth to some of the most caring children I know, one of them being my best friend whom I always have a hard time remembering that she is "only 21" because we relate so well. I can't help but think that some of that wisdom and maturity comes from Sonja being her mother. Sonja will be greatly missed and thought of often with fondness. While it is sad to have lost her at such a young age, we can take comfort in knowing she is not suffering and she is once again in her mother's arms.

CandleTo my cousin Sonja,

Words cannot express the pain of your loss. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort in the arms of your mother.;

To her family,
Her passing leaves a heartache no one can heal; her love leaves a memory no one can steal.

CandleMy mom was the greatest mother in the world. She would care and protect all of us with her whole life and soul. She was there when we needed her she was there to kiss our booboos he was there when we just needed to talk. My mom was my world my everything. I would do anything for her no matter what it was I was always there to help in any way I could. She was there for me when I had all three of my sons. She always tried to come to everything I would plan. She was a happy go person. We loved to go on walks and when I would stay the night at her place we would always stay up all night talking and laughing to the silly stories and jokes we told. My mom is the best grandma and I'm so happy I am her daughter and that we had 24 of the best years together. I would not change a thing about it either. She will always be in my heart and on my mind. I love you and miss you so much already! I'm glad you are now with your mom in heaven but I do wish you were still here with me. I will never ever forget you mom! I promise you that with my whole heart and soul. RIP MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER SONJA JEAN RECTOR! Xoxo I love you forever and ever promise. My baby boys miss and love you so much too! They are lost without nana now. They will always love you tho and they will never forget you..

CandleI remember when Tina and I would go to Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Connie's to play with Stacy. Some how it would always end up in an argument or two. Sonja would say "Now girls, fight nice!" Then she would chase us around the dining room. She was a wonderful person. My condolences to her family.

The world lost an amazing individual, My cousin Sonja; I will always remember when we would come to visit from California when we were little girls you would always want me to hold your hand and we would walk all around together, I just loved you so much Sonja and always will, I know one day if I am so blessed we will walk side by side hand in hand again in Heaven, I know you are at peace and no more hurt in GOD'S arms, Love to you always my cousin, my friend.

My heart goes out to Sonja's children and grandchildren!! Sonja had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Her life wasn't easy, but she did the best she could with what she had. There was always a part of her that was missing and that was her Mother (Jeannie). I rest easy knowing she is with her Mother once again. Sonja was a very big part of my life and was like a sister to me. I regret growing apart! She was there for me for the birth of my first born (Jeanna)...named after Jeannie and Anna Schisel. Sonja named my second born (Jessica Jean). Her favorite color was yellow and her favorite song was here I go again by whitesnake. She loved to knit and crochet and tried to teach me a few times. She made a fabulous chop suey (my favorite to this day) and her hamburger stew was awesome too. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding and she was a great friend. She would put me in my place when I was wrong, but she would protect me if someone did me wrong. She was always the Mother Hen of our group. She loved her children with her whole heart and if she could've given them the world...she would have!!
