Charles "Chalky" Russell, Sr., of Crandon, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Crandon Nursing Home. He was 81 years old. He was born on July 18, 1929 in Kodak, KY a son of the late Taylor and Ameila (Chaney) Russell. He married Alice Johnson. She survives.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife survivors include a son, Charles (Jackie) Russell, Jr. of Summit Lake; 3 daughters, Marilynn (Robert) Dalton of Green Bay, Susan (Randy) Kerr of Crandon and Phyllis Jayne (Michael) Meyer of Rhinelander; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Peggy Weber of Crandon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Burial will take place at Argonne Cemetery on Friday, July 22, at 12 p.m.
