Joan Drage, of Antigo, died Thursday, November 12, 2020, at DeBroux Adult Family Home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 78 years old. She was born in Antigo, a daughter of Henry and Helen (Weeks) Drage.

Joan lived a life filled with many friends and experiences. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She was surrounded by the family of Eight Reasons Group Home in Antigo and later by the family at the DeBroux Family Home in Phlox. The residents and care givers at the DeBroux Family Home became a very close family as they shared many activities with each other.

Joan was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo, volunteering to clean on Saturdays and worshiping regularly with her sister Helen. She was an active participant in the Special Olympics.

She loved dancing at parties at the Langlade County Health Care Center or whenever there was a gathering with music. She enjoyed traveling, having taken many weekend sightseeing excursions to different parts of Wisconsin and Michigan. Additional trips included Branson, Graceland, the Ice Capades, Waupaca Chain of Lakes, and trips to the casino. Her favorite trip being to Lambeau Field where she met Brett Favre and received his autograph. She also enjoyed the Langalde County Youth Fair, especially seeing the animals, going to grandstand shows and listening to live music. Joan was an avid Green Bay Packer and Elvis fan. She enjoyed country music, knitting, bowling and going to movies.

Survivors include three sisters, Harriet Jacobs, Millbrook, Alabama, Marie Napier, Crystal River, Florida, Margaret (Jim) Putnam, Sebree, Kentucky; two brothers, Henry (Carol) Drage, ElCajon, California, James Drage, Nevada; further survived by her close friend who had been her guardian for thirty six years, Clara Hartman.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Drage, and Roselba Baseley.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 18, 2020, 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Burial will take place in the Town of Neva Cemetery at Star Neva.

Visitation will be from Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home.
