Larry J. Boksa, of Antigo, died Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Homme Home in Wittenberg. He was 71 years old. He was born on August 4, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois a son of the late Ted Boksa and Mary (Minton) Boksa of Waupaca. He married Kathleen Andres on May 13, 1973 at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca. She survives.

He moved to Waupaca as a child and was a graduate of Waupaca High School with the class of 1965.

Larry was an over the road truck driver and later a dispatcher for Kimberly Clark. His career with Kimberly Clark took the family to Memphis, Tennessee, Little Rock and Cherokee Village, Arkansas.

In Cherokee Village he worked as a manager for Tri-County Recycling. In 2008 he retired due to multiple sclerosis.

He returned to Wisconsin in 2012 to be closer to friends and family. He moved to Homme Home in 2016.

Larry was a member of the Knights of Columbus Councils in Arkansas and Wisconsin, was an adult leader for the Boy Scouts of America having received the Wood Badge. He played and umpired baseball for the Waupaca Lakemen in the Badger Amateur Baseball Association.

He enjoyed bowling, watching sports on T.V. especially football, baseball and golf. His favorite teams included the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Tennessee Volunteers.

Survivors including his wife and mother are a son, Jim Boksa, Daphne, Alabama; three sisters-in-law Pat Gnacinski, Mary Jo Andres, Joni (Andy) Sensenbrenner, and a brother-in-law Tom (Peg) Andres all of Antigo; a sister Judy (Herb) Jewell, Mountain View, Washington; a brother Ken (Judy) Boksa, Land O' Lakes; four nieces Tammy (Dan) Hintz, Liz Andres, Jeri (Rich) Sneller, Tracy (Tony) Haase; three nephews Jason (Stephana) Andres, Stephan (Ashley) Sensenbrenner, Ted (Mary Ann) Boksa; 12 great-nieces, 6 great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends - especially the Waupaca Lakemen Baseball teams of the 1960's and 1970's.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law Gene and Gerry Andres; a brother-in-law James Gnacinski; a great-nephew Chace Sensenbrenner; grandparents: Lloyd and Minnie Minton, John and Anna Boksa; aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 5, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. Burial will take place in spring at Queen of Peace Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Bradley Funeral Home and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
