John H. Pergler, of Pearson, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, at his home. He was 80 years old. He was born on April 23, 1938, in Chicago, IL a son of the late John and Margaret (Rooker) Pergler. He married Patricia Jordt on February 9, 1957 in Chicago. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2003.
John moved to Pickerel in 1970. He owned and operated the Hill-Top Resort of Pickerel Lake. John was a residential care worker for many organizations.
Survivors include a daughter, Penny (John) Pownell of Three Lakes; a son, John Pergler of Pearson; four grandchildren, Jenny (Sean) Gonzales of Hortonville, Jesse (Nora) Pownell of Appleton, John Pergler of Oshkosh and Justin Pergler of Monico; three great-grandchildren, Seth and Cierra Gonzales of Hortonville and Jacob Pownell of Appleton.
Dad was a funny, kind and gentle man who made friends easily. He was always known as "Big Bad John" He was loved and will be missed dearly.

I remember as a little kid my older brother John and I used to visit and go fishing and we would play outside and slide down the steep hills and grandpa John always made us feel at home. Grandma Pergler would cook the most amazing meals and I ate so many mashed potatoes I got sick and couldnt get out of bed to go hunting. Love and miss ya both.

You have my deepest condolences in your loss of John. He seemed like an amazing man. The pictures that were posted show such love on his part and how he cared for his family.. Death is truly an enemy to all of us no matter how long we live it's never long enough. That is why the promise given to us by our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah is so comforting. The Bible in Revelation chapter 21 verses 3 and 4 may bring you much comfort.
