Aunt Helen was a woman with a lot of integrity and a pragmatic, direct approach to everything. I can remember her saying that she could bake 4 pies before most women could turn around in the kitchen...and she was absolutely right! She canned and cooked up a storm during her life and we will always remember those tasty suppers up north when my family and I were lucky enough to get to visit. One time, when I was stirring apple butter and trying to avoid the sugary syrup as it spit at me, Aunt Helen said, "What are you doing that for, Cynthia? You could just put it in the slow cooker and it would cook itself down and you wouldn't get burned". When it came to matters of the kitchen, she was always right. I love that woman! We were lucky to have her in our lives.

CandleIt was always a pleaure to visist with Helen and Roscoe, they made you feel so very welcome and then you were treated to one of Helen's many goodies! One of the things I loved about Helen was that she was a woman of faith. She just didn't go to church on Sunday, but lived her faith all her life! She was an example of what we are to be as Christians. I'm sure there as been alot of celebrating going on in heaven.Helen has her crown of glory and Jesus has told her, well done, good and faithful servant.Praying for the family at this time of loss.

CandleI had the extreme privilege of having Helen and Roscoe take care of me when I was a little girl. Although I was only 3 or 4 years old, I remember being at their house and eating great food that Helen had cooked! What stands out most in my mind were the doughnuts and doughnut holes that she made from scratch. They were divine!! I also remember that going to their house was like going to my grandparents house. They treated me with love and respect and for that, I will always remember them and have a love in my heart for them. Both Helen and Roscoe were such loving people and I am truly honored that I was one of the lucky people whose life was touched by both of them. Rest in peace, Helen.

CandleThere was nothing like a Sunday after church at the Tackett house. Her cooking was amazing, her kindness unsurpassed, and her afghans amazing. I still have mine she made for my wedding in 1986. Thinking of you all during this hard time.
