Helen M. Krivanek, of Deerbrook, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Langlade Hospital. She was 91 years old. She was born on August 4, 1919 in Chicago, IL a daughter of the late Ludwig and Rose (Boucek) Zemanek Sr. She married Albert Krivanek on June 29, 1940 in Antigo. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1993.
Mrs. Krivanek along with her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Peck until they retired in 1980.
Hundreds of children warmed their hands with her mittens and dozens of her knitted baby sets are being passed down from generation to generation. She enjoyed baking and was known for her kolaches. She was generous with her time and talent.
Survivors include a daughter, Lydia Krivanek, Aurora, WI; a son, Jim (Jeanne) Krivanek, Antigo; two granddaughters, Pamela Krivanek (Shawn Nesbitt), Madison and Kandace (Lance) Noskowiak, Antigo; two great-granddaughters, Abigail and Payton Noskowiak; a sister, Adeline Brozak, Chippewa Falls; and a sister-in-law, Mary Zemanek, Antigo.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ludwig Zemanek Jr. and Edwin Zemanek.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Bohemian National Cemetery, town of Neva. Visitation will be Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Bradley Funeral Home.
