Lorraine Jeske Hunter, of Antigo, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 94 years old. She was born in Navarino on August 4, 1916, the daughter of the late Fred and Emma (Bergman) Jeske, and moved to Antigo at age 2 with her parents.

She was a graduate of Peace Lutheran School and Antigo High School with the class of 1934. She graduated from Le Claire School of Beauty in Milwaukee. She worked as a beautician in Sheboygan and Marshfield I and later was manager of Vogue Beauty Shop in Antigo.

On December 12, 1942, she married Jacob Collins Hunter at St. Martinis Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2004.

She was a faithful and lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church, active in Dorcus, LWML (Lutheran World Missionary League), prayer circle and weekly bible classes.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Thomas) Olsen, Marshfield and Patricia (Terrance) Lueschow, Sheboygan; a son, Paul (Debra) Hunter, Summit Lake; seven grandchildren, Kristin, Kathryn and Peter (Angela) Olsen, Tyler and Jillian Lueschow, and Dillon and Dustin Ellner; and a great granddaughter, Ella Kristin Olsen. She is also survived by dear sisters-in-law, Myra Jeske Jones and Loraine Hunter.

In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Bertrand and Dr. Fredrick Jeske, and beloved niece Elaine Jeske Duff.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Kruse officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9-11 AM at the church.

A memorial has been established in her honor at Peace Lutheran Church.

Lorraine will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful and gentle soul who prioritized family in her life. She was a blessing to relatives and friends. Her smile warmed the hearts of many. She will never be forgotten.
