Jane Elizabeth Govek, of the Town of Hewitt, Marathon County died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 58 years old. She was born on July 4, 1952 in Wausau, a daughter of Ludwig and Ann (Zimmerman) Selner. She married John Govek on May 12, 1973 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. He survives.

She was a graduate of Antigo High School in 1970.
As a young lady she worked as a waitress at Dixie Lunch. Following marriage she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Hewitt, for 26 years. Mrs. Govek later waitressed at X to C Supper Club and worked at the Hewitt-Texas Grade School.

Jane and her husband enjoyed raising their sons and attending their many sporting events from Little League through college. She also cherished time on the water, fishing with her family, and beautiful sunsets.

Survivors including her husband are three sons John Govek, Fulton, Illinois, Robert Govek, Eagle River, Ryan Govek, Wausau; a sister Judy (Jim) Kolz, Savage, MN; a brother Ken (Sharon) Selner, Foristell, MO., a sister-in-law Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Selner, Rothschild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and John Selner.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann and Darren Eultgen officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 10- 11 a.m. on Thursday Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
