Clarence L. Hitz, of Antigo, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Langlade Hospital. He was 91 years old. He was born on December 17, 1918 in Antigo, a son of the late Frank and Marie (Hauenstein) Hitz. He married Marion Boettcher on August 26, 1944 at the Unity Evangelical and Reformed Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on September 17, 1996.

Mr. Hitz worked at Antigo Brick Yard, Guenthner Potato Company, Dakin Coal Company, Wilke Metal Products and retired from Johnson Electric Coil Company.

He enjoyed being in the outdoors, gardening, cutting fire wood and woodworking.

Survivors include two daughters Carolyn Hitz, Merrill, and Joan Foster(Roger Rubow), Weston; a brother, Gordon Hitz, Antigo; a sister, Marion Pregler, Antigo; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He is also survived by a special grand-dog, Misty.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Graham and Evelyn Lemmens; and four brothers, Eugene, Edward, LaVern and Arthur.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Kathy Rust officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Services
