Ellen Herpe, of Antigo, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 87 years old. She was born on July 16, 1923 in Antigo, to Ervin and Alvina (Benishek) Martiny.
She married Philip Herpe on July 23, 1951 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1988.
Mrs. Herpe was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1942.
She enjoyed reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and family.
Mrs. Herpe is survived by a daughter Janet (Anthony Gilson) Schulte of St. Charles, MO; two brothers, Richard (Katie) Martiny, Deerbrook and Philip (Nell) Martiny, Antigo; two sisters, Jean Martiny, Antigo and Mary Jo Martiny, Pearson; and a brother-in-law, Ron Dimond, Portage.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Jim Martiny; three sisters, Doris Pamperin, Margaret Lieserfelder and Gail Dimond.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 11 am until noon at the Bradley Funeral Home.
