Ida Leider, formerly of Birnamwood, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Homme Home in Wittenberg. She was 94 years old. She was born on February 11, 1916 in the town of Aniwa, a daughter of William and Florence (Clark) Ploeger. She married Fred Leider on May 9, 1942 at St. John Lutheran Church parsonage in the town of Aniwa. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1971.
She was a graduate of Birnamwood High School class of 1934. She raised her family and farmed in the town of Birnamwood. Mrs. Leider retired from farming in 1978. She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, the Milwaukee Braves and Brewers, gardening, maple syrup time, playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include a daughter Lana (Dennis) Wruck, a son Dennis (Shirley) Leider; two grandchildren Adam (Debbie) Resch and Heather (Reid) Praslowicz; five great grandchildren Austin, Jayda and Mason Resch, Payton and Landon Praslowicz; a former son-in-law Richard Sparrow Resch, all of Birnamwood.
Including her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers Fred, Edwin and William Ploeger, five sisters, Rose Neill, Wilda Schairer and Emma Schweizer and two in infancy, a stepson Wilbert Leider and a foster daughter Sandy Leider.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Homme Home in Wittenberg with Rev. Erik Olson officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday at the Homme Home.
