Carlton W. Schultz, of Wausau, formerly of Antigo, died Friday, January 15, 2010 at North Central Health Care Center. He was 90 years old. He was born on May 26, 1919 in Outagamie County to the late William and Marie (Steffen) Schultz. He married Rose Marie Hayek on November 23, 1974 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on June 5, 1993.
As a young man he moved to Marathon County. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Town of Easton until moving to Antigo. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo where he served as an usher.
He farmed in the Town of Easton, Marathon County for many years. He worked in the Town of Texas quarry for the Lake Wausau Granite Company retiring in 1980. Following his marriage, he moved to Antigo in 1974.
Survivors include a sister-in-law Lorraine Schultz of Wausau; nine nieces and nephews including Milton (Marsha) Schultz of Wausau, Nancy (Gary) Duren, Sun Prairie; Kenny (Jeannie) Schultz, Blair; Rita Schultz, Wausau; Lynn (Mike) Fremming, Wausau; Mary (Harry) Rodemier, Wausau; Jerry (Kay) Schroeder, Shawano; Denny Schroeder, Shawano; Sharon Peiffer, Menasha; and 14 great and five great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, William Schultz, two sisters, Marion Schroeder and Marcella Klopstien.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev Scott Kruse officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Phlox. Visitation will be 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM on Tuesday at the Peace Lutheran Church. Bradley Funeral Home, Antigo is assisting with arrangements.
