Marvin G. Nigg, of Mountain, WI and Astor, Florida died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at his home in Astor, Florida. He was 76 years old. Born on December 23, 1932 in Chicago, he was the son of the late John and Mildred (Hartmann) Nigg. He married Marge Ernst who preceded him in death. He later married Joyce Jensen who survives.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. In Korea he fought in Seoul, Inchon, and the Chosin Reservoir in November and December 1950.
Following military service he returned to Chicago where he owned and operated Accurac Paving for seven years. He moved to Mountain, WI in 1972 where he operated a pig farm. He later sold pole buildings for Menards.
Mr. Nigg was a member of Amvets Post 31, DeLand, FL, Honorary Member of Veterans of America, Life Member of the Timberwolves Detachment of the Marine Corps League, Antigo, WI, Marine Corps Association, 1st Marine Division Association, Wisconsin Chosin Few Chapter 1, Korean War Veterans Association, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2653, Antigo, WI, American Legion Post 44, Wabeno, WI, USO, Astor Moose Lodge 2552, and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, his garden, parades and the United States Marine Corps.
For many years Mr. Nigg's collection of Marine Corps vehicles were driven in Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Fourth of July parades throughout Wisconsin. He was wearing the Smokey hat and driving the vehicle playing The Marine Corps Hymn.
Survivors including his wife are a sister Millie Williams four sons Mike Nigg, Steve Nigg, Jim (Virginia) Nigg, and Rich (Pattie) Lance; three daughters Cathy Nigg, Candy (Jim) Wareham, Cindy Nigg 12 grandchildren Amber, Michael Jr, Cathy, Matt, James, Joseph, Stasia (Kelly), Phillip, Mitchel, Nicole, James, and Lisa; three great-grandchildren Ryan, Lilliana, and Adrian; three step children Mandy (Dan), Heather (Tom), Mike (Michelle); 11 step grandchildren Shara, Jordin, Tylor, Alex, James, Ashley, Nick, Brady, Ben, Brittanie, and Cheyenne. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his late wife, Marge; a brother, John Nigg, a sister, Gloria, and a step grandchild, Rachel,

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Antigo, WI. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Townsend Cemetery, Townsend, WI. Visitation will be 3:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday with a Military Honor Guard from 7 to 8 p.m. and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday Bradley Funeral Home.
