George J. Sensenbrenner,
Lifelong resident of the Town of Neva, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was 97 years old. He was born on August 15, 1912 in Deerbrook, to Andrew and Anna (Strasser) Sensenbrenner. He married Ann Skic on May 11, 1949 at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva. She preceded him in death on December 21, 1995.

Mr. Sensenbrenner attended Deerbrook Grade School through the 9th grade. He was a member of St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva and the Holy Name Society. He was a Supervisor and Chairman for the Town of Neva for 16 years and served on the Langlade County Board of Supervisors for 12 years. He was a member of Hy-Land Lakes Lions Club for over 40 years.

From 1930 until his retirement in 1977 he was a dairy farmer along with his wife in the Town of Neva. As a young man he worked in the Deerbrook Sawmill and logging camps in northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Locally he will be remembered for his custom butchering and maple syrup. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and woodworking.

Survivors include three daughters Margaret (Walter) Rydzewski, Deerbrook, Catherine (Dean) Hoffman, Brookfield and RoseAnn (Brian) Schleif, Poynette; two sons George A. Sensenbrenner, Castle Rock, CO, and Andrew (Joni) Sensenbrenner, Deerbrook; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters Rose Wolter, Mary Joerres, Ann Schoeneck and Frieda Thompson; four brothers Mike, Ray, Ralph and Bernie Sensenbrenner.

Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will take place in St. Wencel Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:30 - 7:30 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home with a parish wake service at 4:30 PM. A second visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
