Eugene Mike" Tackett, of White Lake, died Thursday Nov. 5, 2009 at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He was 68 years old. He was born on December 27, 1940 in Lily to Roscoe and Helen Tackett. He married Marcia Owens on April 4, 1981. She survives.
He graduated from White Lake High School in 1959 and served with the United States Marines from June 2, 1959 to June 30, 1964.
He worked at Dierks Farms for a number years as well as Mercury Marine. Mr. Takcett worked several construction jobs and was employed at Robbins Flooring in White Lake for many years. He was active with area sports having umpired many baseball games and was scorer and clock keeper at the White Lake gymnasium. He served on the White Lake School Board of Education and volunteered for the White Lake Fire Department.
He was a member Anderson-Sather American Legion Post #524 in White Lake.
Survivors include his molther Helen, Fond du Lac, 3 brothers Roscoe Sonnie (Shirley) Tackett, Fond du Lac, Oscar (Pearl) Tackett, Fond du Lac, John (Debbie) Tackett, Fond du Lac, a step daughter Hope Tackett, White Lake, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Roscoe Tackett, and a brother Robert.
Services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in the Elmwood Cemetery where the White American Legion Post will conduct military rites. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Bradley Funeral Home.
