Deacon Harvey F. Schremp, of Antigo, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at his home in the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 81 years old.

He was born July 7, 1927 in Town of Harrison, Marathon County, the son of the late Theodore and Emma (Zimmerman) Schremp.
Durng WWll, in the last semester of his senior year at Antigo High School, he received his diploma and was drafted into the United States Army. He served in South Korea until the end of WWll. Following his discharge from military service, he was employed by McCandless & Zobel Furniture Store and Funeral Home. He attended St Lawrence Seminary, Mt. Calvary, WI, and St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee, graduating in 1962. He was a instructor and counselor at the Blackwell Job Corp Center later becoming an administrator for the Department of Labor serving a five state region. He enjoyed skiing in Austria with his Army buddy, fishing up north with another Army buddy, and deer hunting..

Surviving are two brothers, Herb (Verna) Schremp, Mosinee, Lawrence (Doris) Schremp, Antigo, three sisters-in-law, Faith Schremp, Wausau, Marie Schremp, Antigo, Dory Schremp-Willis, Antigo, and a brother-in-law, Jack Winnega, Antigo, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Irene Keen and Elsie Winnega, and six brothers, Robert, Raymond, Paul, Ernest, Morris, and Lester Schremp.

Funeral services will be held at St. John Catholic Church, Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating.

Interment will follow in the Queen of Peace Cemetery, Antigo where Antigo Veterans will conduct Military Honors.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2009 at St. John Catholic Church from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a parish wake service at 4 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m. and visitation on Monday at the church from 9:30 to time of services.
