C Carol S. LaMar on Jan 30, 2018

I am very sad to lean Colleen has passed away. I remember her so well when my husband, Rev. Jack LaMar, was Pastor at the Kempster United Church of Christ. She always had a smile, was very kind and talented. She was very dedicated to church communities to provide the music for so many services. Every once in a while the church service would being a little later than scheduled as we waited for Colleen to breathlessly rush in from another service. She had no control over weather or length of service, but she was always dedicated and smiling. She was a very special lady.

There are no words to express our sincere sympathy. Colleen was such a sweet lady full of love and care for others. I have many fond memories of her starting several years ago when her family hosted a dinner for the basketball team that her girls and I were members of. Then I was very honored to have her as the pianist at our wedding and then to have her provide piano lessons to our three boys. She was always encouraging them not only in music, but in their extra curricular activities as well. She has touched so many lives in so many ways in her short time here on earth. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family now and into the future! Shelli, Chris, Robby, Michael, and Scott Hagerty

CandleGlen and family--Judy, Mike and family--Mark, Deb and family--Tom K and family--Extended family----
Ours is not to understand why God needed another Black angel wayyyy too early but we trust that Colleen is at peace in His loving arms. She offered much love to many---friends, family, community and will be greatly missed. May memories bring you comfort. May your faith continue to be strong. May you support each other through the tears and years until all will be united. Our thoughts and prayers. Jeanne and Jim Peters, Platteville. (Formerly Deerbrook).

Colleen was always kind and very humble. She found something positive to add in any conversation and was a great gift to her family, to this community, area churches and schools. She was gracious and helpful and constantly encouraging our youth! We are all so blessed that she was a part of wonderful memories for many people of every age. She was always willing to juggle her schedule to be of service to someone in need. Thank you to all of Colleen's family for constantly sharing her. She is clearly loved by all who knew her and her positive impact will live on. Thank you, God, for Colleen! Patti Hilger

M Mary Waterhouse on Jan 29, 2018

Colleen was a woman full of music, patience, guidance, and compassion. Over 10 years Colleen was my piano teacher, accompanist and she brought me closer to the joy of music through many opportunities. One specific opportunity she gave me, and three other girls was the Lori Line concert. Colleen was so excited to take us, and she couldn't stop talking about Lori Lines shoes; now I understand they were Louboutin's. Colleen obviously had good taste in shoes! Colleen was a woman of many talents and gifts one of them being her ability to cared deeply about the success of her students. Most importantly she was selfless and showed it many times throughout her life to me and many more. Thank you, Colleen, for guiding my life through the joy of music. I will always be grateful for how you touched my heart. You will be missed. "Music is God's gift to man, the only art of Heaven given to earth, the only art of earth we take to heaven." Next time we meet, you will have to tell me what it is like to play piano for God himself.

Yes, our hearts are truly broken for you and your dear sweet family. So many family childhood memories with Colleen and the other cousins. It happened all too fast but we trust and believe that she is cradled in the arms of God who evidently decided He needed another musician in the heavenly choir. We're sorry that we won't be able to be with the family, but our thoughts and prayers will be with them always. Love and God bless to all. Bonny and Larry

M Mark Koopman on Jan 29, 2018

I called on Glen at North Central Mechanical for over 8 years and I always enjoyed talking with Colleen. We shared stories about our kids and talked about our vacation trips. She truly loved her family and was proud of them all even Glen! You will be missed but you are in a great place and no pain. Your friend Koop

M Monica (Waterhouse) Benko on Jan 29, 2018

Colleen meant more to me than most people will know....she was a happy face that greeted me and my family every Sunday in the Church choir loft, she was my piano teacher, my accompanist, and the first person to introduce me to singing for the church. Today I am a music teacher, I have a piano studio, and I regularly cantor for my local parish, all because Colleen gave me a love for music that is undeniably eternal. I will always remember Colleen and the joy she exuded and hope to pass that same joy on to my students. Colleen, I will always remember what you have done for me and will miss you greatly. Until we meet again, may you be blessed with the heavenly sounds of all the choirs of Angels and Saints.
