Edward Fronek, of Antigo, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was 95 years old. Born Friday, November 15, 1912 in the Town of Ackley to John and Emma (Honzik) Fronek Sr. His first marriage was to Lorein Fisher. The couple later divorced. He married Ida (Raymark) Lambert on April 16, 1955 at Unity Evangelical and Reformed Church in Antigo. She survives.

Mr. Fronek graduated from Antigo High School in 1930 and the Langlade County Teachers College in 1931. He started working in the fall of 1937 for the Wisconsin Conservation Department as a towerman and later as a Conservation Aid. On April 1, 1943 he was promoted to Forest Ranger at Antigo. From June 1963 through February 1971 he was also the acting Antigo Area Ranger. He retired from the Department of Natural Resources on December 31, 1972 with over 34 years of service. Mr. Fronek was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Antigo and had been a Deacon and member of the Governing Board and the Men's Brotherhood. He enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening, traveling and following the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife Ida, one daughter, Donna (Robert) Mietzel, West Bend, three sons Philip (Carol) Fronek, Bryant, Paul (Nancy) Fronek, Antigo, Steve (Amy) Fronek, Rothschild, one stepson, Bill (Cindy) Lambert, Eland, one sister-in-law, Carley Fronek, Antigo, one daughter-in-Law, Fran Fronek, Campbellsport, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Dennis in 1996 and Joseph in infancy, 5 brothers Harry Sr., John Jr., Norman, Ervin and Raymond, one sister Clara Steber, one grandson and two great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday September 25, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, Antigo with Rev. Audrey Alexander officiating. Burial will take place at Bohemian National Cemetery in Antigo. Visitation will be at Bradley Funeral Home Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services.
