David Anthony Schmidt, 50 of Weston, WI, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness.

He was born May 19, 1958 in Antigo, Son of Donald Schmidt of Phlox and the late Gladys (Cornelius) Schmidt.
He graduated from St. Joseph Grade School, Phlox and Antigo High School in 1976. He attended North Centeral Technical College in Wasuau.
He married the Karen Campbell. They were later divorced.

He worked as a Machinist for Federal Mougel in Schofield for 18 years retiring in 2002

He was a member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers, Local 1438.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing ,and playing cards.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa (John) Chaney Eland , WI; 2 sons, Jesse Schmidt Rothschild, WI, Eric Schmidt Weston, WI; 5 sisters, Donna (Bob) Weed Aniwa, WI, Patricia (Earl) Sippl Birnamwood, WI, Karen (Joe) Meisenhelder Aniwa, WI, Mary ( Tim) McMahn Menasha, WI, Jean Schmidt Antigo; 2 brothers, John (Terri) Schmidt Schofield, WI, Steve (Lily) Schmidt Howard, WI; and 6 Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death Mother, Gladys Schmidt, and Nephew Joey Koeppel

Funeral services will be held at Bradley Funeral Home, Hwy 45, Antigo.Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Kiefer, officiating. A visitation will be held at the Bradley Funeral Home Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 am

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church, Phlox with a dinner to follow in the church hall.
