Bessie "Betty" Weisshahn, long time town of Vilas resident died Monday December 25, 2006 at Langlade Memorial Hospital under the
care of LeRoyer Hospice, she was 80 years old. Born April 18, 1926 in the town of Peck to Peter and Anna (Marko) Knapek she married Henry"Hank" Weisshahn in June 22,1946, he survives. She attended Bluebell grade school and farmed with her husband for many years in the town of Vilas. She was a member of the town of Vilas Womens Club and enjoyed cooking and being with her family.

Survivors include her husband Hank.
One daughter Maryann Rethaber of Gleason.
One son Bill (Mary) of Rhinelander.
One sister Mildred Strobel of Antigo.
Five grandchildren; Cora and Rebecca (special friend Lance Hollister) Weisshahn, Lani (Mimi), and Martin Rethaber, Mindy (Herb) Ponta.
Four great grandchildren; Charlotte and Annalucia Rethaber, Gwendolyn Cahak, Owen Ponta.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Frank and John, one sister Vanita Roth.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 28, 2006 at Bradley Funeral Home at 10:00 am with Rev. Carolyn Saunders officiating. Burial will take place in Forestview Cemetery, Town of Vilas. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:30 - 8:00 pm at Bradley Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:00 - 10:00 am.
