Lyle Schmidt, of Merrill, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston at the age of 84. He was born on October 10, 1933 a son of the late Fred and Mable (Anderson) Schmidt.

Mr. Schmidt served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954.

Burial and Military Honors will be held at a Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
