Ruby Parizek, age 87, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Rosalia Gardens in Antigo. She was born on September 2, 1929 in DePere to Ben and Eva (Kornoski) Micolichek. She married Chester Parizek and the couple later divorced.
Ruby was raised in Pine Grove and lived in the Denmark area the majority of her adult life. In 2015 she moved to Antigo to be closer to her daughter, Carol.
Ruby worked as a waitress at Suster's Arcade for over 40 years. She was also a successful, award-winning Avon lady. Interacting and talking to people was something she enjoyed.
Ruby loved animals and dancing, and was "all about having fun." She will be remembered for her love of fashion and sense of style. Her grandchildren will never forget her chicken dumpling soup and homemade pies.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Marvin) Ziesmer of Oconto, Carol (Bob) Van Abel of Antigo, Jodie (Joe) Wallerius of Broomfield, CO; a son, Ken Parizek of Denmark; two sisters, Virginia Sorenson of DePere, Ruby's twin Ruth Wypiszynski of Green Bay; a brother, Donald Micolichek of Utah; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bernice Siporski; and a brother, Benjamin Jr.
A memorial gathering will take place at a later date in Denmark.
Ruby was our Gem and we will miss her dearly.
