For the family of Bob, my deepest sympathy. I actually go back to the days when I was in high school and Frank sold veggies/fruit to the restaurant I worked at, Gus & Ann's in Wittenberg in the 1970's. Then when I moved to Antigo, I got to know Bob in the 80's and 90's from Smitty's bar. I was Kris Smith, married to Smitty back then and Bob was one of our bouncers. He was the best. He was as Marty said, a very caring, friendly, kind, nice man. (Well put Marty.) As he was. We could always count on him and he knew how to handle anyone getting out of line. He was a dear friend and I too cried when I heard of his passing. I moved back to Las Vegas in 1999, and I did stop in a few times at the fruit market when visiting Antigo and it was always a pleasure to get a big hug from him. I will miss him. I miss many people from my tavern days...but thankful for the fun memories we have. RIP my dear friend. Guard the gates of heaven, hope I get to see you again someday....Kristie Gardner (AKA: Kris from Smitty's)
