David L Zwicky, (Flag Emblem) of Bass Lake, died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 77 years old. He was born on August 4, 1938 in Antigo, a son of Rudolph and Viola (Greening) Zwicky. He married Sally Kestly on December 4, 1965 at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Antigo. She survives.
He graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1957 and attended Northland College in Ashland for a year.
Mr. Zwicky served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1979 having been stationed in the United States, Japan and Germany. He attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and served as Inspector General of Air Force Bases and managed base recreation departments.
Following military service Mr. Zwicky returned to Antigo where he worked for the city as Director of the Parks Recreation and Cemetery Department from 1979 until his retirement in 1998.
In retirement he enjoyed wintering under the Arizona sun.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Antigo, member and past Worshipful Master of the Antigo Masonic Lodge 231, Free and Accepted Masons, member and past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 662 Antigo and a member of the Bass Lake Country Club.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and following their achievements. He was an avid Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badger, and Antigo Red Robin sports fan.
Survivors including his wife are three daughters, Michelle (Bobby) Arlen, Antigo, Tami Zwicky and DeeDee Zwicky both of DePere; a son, David Zwicky II of Bryant; a brother, John (Sue) Zwicky, Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren Austin, Heather, and Tristin Arlen, Frances and Lucy Zwicky.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Karen Tews officiating. Antigo Veterans will conduct military rites following services at the church. Burial will take place in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.

Dear Sally and family - I am so sorry for your loss. Dave's brother John is in constant touch with me through email although I wasn't aware how serious Dave's health issue had become. I still have the picture of the family you sent one Christmas while oversees on one of Dave's tours of duty. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
