A friend on Earth and asset in Heaven.

George and I were both chosen as our state Historians, he was Wisconsin and mine was Tennessee. It was our 1st year and we became friends and communicated on our facebook page at least twice a week. He had a lot of knowlege of cameras and I had a lot of questions that he helped me with. A short friendship but a long lasting memory of his smile and love for his family. RIP my brother in arms, from a Marine and fellow legionaire.

George was a witness of love. I marveled that George used a scrolling lap top manuscript for preaching! He was a creative, progressive and spirited man. I will miss him.

This is why it is important to treasure our loved ones and friends as often as possible. As the American Legion's State of Wisconsin's Historian, George was a significant force in the establishment of a connection outlet for our Legionnaires to share information across the state. He kept us abreast of the activities within and outside of the state. In the age of information, it is those efforts that are irreplaceable. R.I.P. Brother!

I will miss my fellow Legion Rider brother, and friend. One of my fondest memories was at our last Brat fry in Lakewood where he took many pictures, and we shared much laughter. He was always so very kind and generous, with a splendid sense of humor. You could never be "down" while in his company. He was an inspirational man who will be missed.

Room mate; buddy; Legacy Rider.

I met George on my way to Indianapolis this year for the annual American Legion Legacy Scholarship Motorcycle Run. We shared room costs from WI through Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

I found George to be a great guy who I enjoyed spending time and stories with (although his were Air Force and mine were Army). I looked forward to linking up with him again next year for another Legacy Run and now it appears that I will have to wait a while longer.

I'm sure George will be sorely missed by all of those who knew him better than me. My prayers and sympathy go out to George's family, relatives and close friends.

The only bad thing I can say about George was that he rode a noisy Harley (in my Honda Gold Wing owner opinion). May he rest in peace.

It's hard to believe George is not with us anymore. He and I (Dennis) went through lay pastor training together and connected several times while we were both in the ministry. Many have spoken of his sense of humor...to add to that, while in one of our lay pastor classes, the instructor was informing us of what the content of our class would be following dinner. George, straight-faced and serious, said, "What? We don't have class after dinner." The rest of us had to set the instructor straight. We DO have class and George is just pulling your leg. He definitely enjoyed the joke!! George is enjoying the glory of meeting Jesus face to face. We will miss you, George!

George was a wonderful person, always had a smile and a kind word for everyone that he met. I know how much he loved Hope Presbyterian Church, pastoring to the congregation gave him so much joy. God placed an awesome man in our midst, may George's family find peace in the gift that God gave to us all.

So very sorry to hear of George's passing. We were classmates and friends of George's for many years. Even though we didn't see a lot of him, when we did, we just picked up where we left off. He was always friendly and had a great sense of humor. Not only will he be deeply missed by his family, but also by his many friends. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Esper and family. May he rest in peace.

Bucky was a wonderful person with a unique personality. My youngest daughter (now 42) was 10 years old when she met Buck. We were at Carl Linds camp...she was eating breakfast and Buck decided to eat some of her food. He reached down and grabed some eggs with his hands and shoved the food in his mouth and just walked away...Marcia was shocked but we have shared many laughs about that incident. Pat and I are very sad about Bucks passing...he is in our prayers. Chief Mike Shimon

I first met George when we worked together at Motion Systems. He invited me to the Hope Presbyterian Church since I had just moved to the area. At that time I was Lutheran and he helped me understand and become a Presbyterian. He was a thoughtful, giving man with a great love for Jesus Christ. We worked together closely with the church and he mentored me with my religious struggles at time throughout my life. I will miss him as our pastor and also as a great friend.

George was my classmate and friend. We were blessed to get reacquainted in 2002 when we moved back to the area. Esper, Jennifer, James and Steve, please know how much he was appreciated and respected. Heaven has gained another faithful son.

Steve, Jenny, and James sorry to here about your dads passing. He was truly a wonderful man. We will miss him greatly. Though these times are hard, it is calming to know that George is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus. May his memories live on through you. Our prayers are with. May the Lord comfort you and give you strength in these difficult days. God bless.

I worked for "Buck" George when he was the flight supervisor for the Air Force in Wausau. He was a tremendous mentor and most importantly, friend. He and Esper were always so kind and generous. My thoughts and prayers go out to Esper, Steve, Jennifer, James and the entire family.

I know there is a special place in heaven for you George. I will remember you always.
